Manufacturers warranties are generally for 1 year only. Buy direct from Sartech, however, and we will repair or replace any faulty EPIRB or SART returned to us within 5 years of the date of purchase. We will only charge you the cost of sending it back to you (or you can pick it up from us completely free).
If you pay us to carry out the service and battery changes in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations (generally after 5 years or if the equipment has been activated), we will extend this warranty up to a maximum of 10 years from the original date of purchase.
It is up to you to regularly check the correct operation of your equipment by following the test procedure recommended by the manufacturer. If you have any doubts about it, we will be happy to carry out a free test on the equipment at our facility, subject to a minimal charge for packing and returning it to you.
Here's the small print:
1. This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights and the manufacturer's own warranty.
2. This warranty applies only to new EPIRBs and SARTs purchased direct from Sartech Engineering Ltd. It is non-transferable - i.e. it applies to the original purchaser only.
3. The customer is responsible for the proper installation and care of the equipment. The warranty will not apply to any equipment that has been physically damaged, maltreated, badly installed, or serviced other than by Sartech.
4. The customer shall bear the costs of packing, shipping and in-transit insurance.
5. If the faulty equipment cannot be economically repaired, Sartech reserves the right to offer an equivalent alternative.
