Sartech Electronics; founded in 1989 by Peter Forey; provided Design, Consultancy and Development expertise on projects such as EPIRB Test Equipment. In 1992 Sartech began servicing of EPIRBs and SARTs, and production of Lithium batteries.

In 1994, Sartech Engineering was formed as a partnership between Peter Forey and Saddique Mirza. This company ran alongside Sartech Electronics, taking over the manufacture of Lithium Batteries, and the servicing of distress equipment.

In April 1997, the 2 companies were merged to form Sartech Engineering Ltd, moving to new premises in November 1999.

On January 2nd 2001, Sartech Engineering Ltd took over the business of Sullivan Marine Ltd, the wholly owned UK subsidiary of French EPIRB and SART manufacturer, SERPE-IESM.

During the summer of 2001, the world-wide support of the Lokata EPIRB product line was transferred to Sartech from Kelvin Hughes Ltd. The highly successful Lokata products were originally designed and manufactured in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK. The business was transferred to Hainault Essex around 1993, where new generation EPIRB and SART products continued to be developed and manufactured. Production ceased in 1997, as Kelvin Hughes decided to concentrate on its core radar business. Many thousands of the Lokata products remain in service around the world, and these can now benefit from the support of dedicated specialists Sartech. Sartech has purchased the production tooling and remaining stocks of spare parts, enabling vital spares to be available for the forseeable future.

In September 2005, Sartech moved again to much larger premises in Redhill, in response to the growing market for sales and service of EPIRBs for the leisure market.
